Theresa was born to Bill and Clercy Brogden in Bryson City, North Carolina on October 10, 1939. Theresa moved to Oregon at the age of 8 and lived in Oregon and Washington until graduation from high school. She spent her young adult years in Southern California and graduated from California Baptist College in Riverside, California.She married Robert Nixon in 1965 and had two children, Greg and Rebecca. Theresa was a natural born teacher so after many years of teaching grade school she entered the space shuttle program at Vandenberg Air Force Base and taught security procedures for Lockheed. She loved teaching but her greatest love was her love of Jesus and her grandchildren.She is survived by four grandchildren, Samantha and Erica Nixon, and Daniel and Benjamin Rose. She is also survived by her two children, Greg Nixon and Rebecca Rose (Pete); her mother, Clercy Brogden; sisters, Billie Des Jardins (Norm), and Clara Phillips; adopted sisters, Joan Leasure (Ron), and Carolyn McClaughry (Patrick); and oh so many friends who loved her and learned so much from her.Theresa will be missed by so many but was welcomed into the safe arms of her best friend Jesus at 4:43 p.m. on June 12, 2007.
