Lifelong Port Angeles resident Daniel W. Gresli died of cancer the day before his 68th birthday.
 
The son of Alfred "Carrots" and Edna (Cogburn) Gresli graduated from high school in Port Angeles in 1957.
 
He went on active duty with the Navy in 1957-59, including duty in the Philippines.
 
He took some college-level courses and worked as a commercial fisherman with his father, in addition to holding miscellaneous jobs in the timber industry.
 
Mr. Gresli retired from Rayonier Inc. in 1995 as a maintenance supervisor.
 
His marriage to Wynona Brewer ended in divorce.
 
He married Kathy Devine in California on Aug. 19, 1981.
 
In addition to his wife, survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Jim and Barb Gresli of Port Angeles and Bob and Dana Gresli of Oregon; son Mike Hill and companion Kori Malone of Sequim; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Rich Nichol of California; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Ed Wallace of Port Angeles; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
