Margaret Loraine Rowles (Schmidt)

Margaret L. Schmidt, 73, was called home to the Lord Thursday morning, February 21st, 2013, with her husband and family by her side. Born May 18, 1939 in Sedro Woolley, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ella Rowles of Port Angeles. She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Robert N. Schmidt of Seattle, who survives.

Margaret (Margie) was not about to succumb to 2 bouts with cancer without an all-out fight. She lived for her six grandchildren. They were the joy of her life and their biggest fan. From her cookies and pies, to her love of flowers, to her passion for antiques, Margie has left a profound mark on so many of us, and will be so missed.

Also surviving are her son Brian Schmidt of Bonney Lake (daughter Nicole), daughter Teresa Kempf and husband Steve of Kent (son Shane and daughter Hayley), and daughter Jennifer Hansen and husband Aaron of Bonney Lake (sons Tyler and Connor, daughter Madison), her sisters Pat Vautier of Port Angeles (daughters Lisa and Pam and their respective families), and Jean Sikma and husband Dick of Beaverton (daughters Rhonda and Kathy), and many friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church located at 13055 S.E. 192nd St in Renton, with a luncheon following.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorials be made to the Cancer Research Institute or the Make a Wish Foundation.
