Phyllis Sheedy (Byers)

Phyllis Ann Byers of Port Angeles passed away at 75 from natural causes on October 9, 2014.

She was born in Shelton, Washington, to Jack B. and Erma Marie (Fountain) Sheedy.

She attended Port Angeles High School and graduated with the class of 1957.

Phyllis worked for Olympic Laundry and later for Albertsons as a bookkeeper.

She married Ted F. Byers on November 28, 1959.

She loved going for drives and eating lunch with her husband, Ted. She was particularly fond of their trips to the Oregon coast and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Phyllis leaves behind her loving husband, Ted; daughter Teri Michalscheck of Port Angeles; son, Steve Byers of Port Angeles; sisters Lorraine (Dick) Barrett of Lake Forest Park, Washington, and Jackie Parr of Port Angeles; and brother Melvin (Jan) Sheedy of Port Angeles.

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Tandi Michalscheck of Port Angeles, Jimmy Byers of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mitchell Byers of Sequim; and great-grandchildren Taylor and Peyton Hancock, both of Port Angeles. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Jack Sheedy.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. at Bethany Pentecostal Church, 508 South Francis Street, Port Angeles, on Saturday, October 18. A reception will follow the service.
